- Wedding: April 2011
I think it’s finally time I do a recap! I was married this past April in Cancun, Mexico. What a beautiful place indeed!
The morning of the wedding I had room service pre-ordered and delivered to my suite where I had slept alone. Just as the food was arriving my lovely cousin (and MOH) was showing up too. We both had eggs benedict and stuffed our faces despite being extremely nervous. It was really nice to have that moment between the two of us because growing up she had always been my best friend and support, the closest thing I have to a sister.
By 10:30am we were off to the salon where all of my bridesmaids were having something done. Hair, nails, pedicures, makeup. The salon covered it all. In the end we all touched up our own hair and makeup, but the spa services were exceptional.
By 2:30pm my bridesmaids as well as my mother, father, step-mother, aunt, and two other cousins had all gathered in my suite. Boy was it crowded! I was happy to see all their similing faces though and it was over whelming to see all that love and support in one room. The nerves really started to get to me at that point. It was sweltering out and I felt faint as I was zipped into my thick mermaid cut gown.
My mom kept saying, “Smile my girl.” My nerves were visible to everyone, but they were happy nerves 🙂
After some last minute prepping, including sandwiches and champagne, we finally pulled our selves together and made the long walk to the ceremony venue. Probably the longest “walk” of my life. I can’t explain to you all the different feelings I was feeling all at once!
