Hi Bees! I’ve been MIA, enjoying married life! Thought I would share some things with you about our special day. Mostly in pictures!!!
My godson/ring bearer was good as gold the whole day. He posed for every picture, and besides dropping the pillow with the rings on it before the ceremony (which we caught on the video lol) he did a GREAT job, so I got him his Halo legos and played for a bit.
Mom and I sharing a quick smooch before pictures.
Phil’s message on my shoes the morning of the wedding.
The wedding party
The guys loved their socks!! Phil regrets being so opposed to them at first!
Cute photo of the ring bearer showing distress over the men’s socks
Get me out of here, Zayden!!
Pretending to love Phil’s ring. They do a good job acting excited!
Phil’s parents, us, and my parents. I loved this picture.
One for the wall 🙂
The photographer said that we were very relaxed and had tons of fun. and we did. We made sure not to take things too seriously.
We were going to take more photos and couldn’t find my father in law. When in doubt, look in the pew. He was sleeping, lol.
I had to take a rest before the ceremony (don’t worry, the beerstein held only water at that point). Oh yeah, remember my sister in law? The one that complained for almost 9 months about the dress she had to wear? We made up. She apologized, we said we loved each other, kissed, hugged, and now have a new start to our relaionship. It is a wonderful feeling.
My dad walking me down the aisle
My handsome hubby and I singing God, a Woman, and a Man together. I was shaking so violently from standing on my heels for the last 6 hours, and my nerves didn’t help either, but when I go back and watch the video, it sounds gorgeous and everyone was surprised!
If you’re worried about makeup smudging, don’t. I didn’t know Phil was going to sing “The Luckiest” which became the theme of our wedding (its whats engraved in his ring, but not in words…in music notes to Ben Fold’s song). I cried when I realized that was what he was singing. My face turned a little red, but my photos were beautiful. He did a wonderful job!
Officially husband and wife! And bubbles!!!
I had to hold his arm to make sure he didn’t push the cupcake in my face. By the way, those cupcakes were so flippin’ delicious. I am disappointed I didn’t have another.
As a tribute to my groom, who is a HUGE hunter, the best man rounded up as many men with duck calls, told them to bring them, and they all did a duck call before the best man’s speech.
I told my dad about the “garter dance off” which he told me he was not going to do. I told him if he got out there and danced he would automatically win. Well, come time, my dad got out there, danced his ass of, and got the garter. Twisted his ankle in the process (he is a Vietnam War vet with agent orange in his ankle and also had it broken). I told him I was sorry, and he said “Megan, I would do it all over agan for you.”
Were there things in the day that went wrong? Of course! My hair kind of got ruined because my veil wouldn’t go in, so they had to put it on top of my hair and flowers. The bakers who did the cupcakes did a really terrible job compared to how they showed me they were going to do them. The DJs forgot to light up the ceiling with white. And my husbands whole family (on his dad’s side–all 6 families) left after Michael Jackson came on. Oh and this girl photobombed a picture of my MOH and I dancing by flashing her cooter because her dress was so frickin’ short.
But at the end of the night………………
I married the most wonderful man that God could ever have blessed me with.
Everything will work out. ENJOY YOUR WEDDING! <3
