- Wedding: May 2014
I am having a very non traditional wedding…
My Fiance and I are eloping on an island next May and then having a wedding “celebration” in July.
We decided to avoid the big and formal ceremony/reception because neither of us like the “staged” idea and being center of attention. And getting all of our family together in one large group kind of makes us cringe too.
We thought about not having a celebration at all and call it good with our “weddingmoon”, but FI’s Dad and some of his other family members would be upset. My family could care less lol. So a casual wedding BBQ/celebration it is!
Even though our wedding gathering is gonna be super informal and laid back, I still get anxiety thinking about the 60+ friends and family that are going to attend. I am pretty shy around large groups of people and have social anxiety as it is. Thinking about a large group coming together for myself and my Fiance just makes my social anxiety worse!
Does anybody have similiar fears?? How do you cope?? How do you ensure that you are gonna be confident and carefree on your big day??
