We have 58 on our list and we are hoping for 50 or less. Personally, I am a fan of smaller weddings because there is more of an opportunity to visit with everyone.
My wedding will have 60 guests max, so I don't think 120 is small, probably averaged sized really.
It all depends on your venue. If it seats 400 ppl, then yes it might look empty with only 120 ppl.
Do you know how large your reception venue is?
Your guestlist is 3 times the size of mine! We're only inviting about 50 people. The room we're using holds about 80 standing and 40 sitting at tables (we're doing standing cocktail/ appetizer circulation) so I hope it won't look too empty either.
We have 60 people max! :o) So don't feel bad, there are alot of people who opt for intimate affairs. You doubled my guest list!
we had 150 guests and I wouldn't have minded if it was smaller (at least at my venue!)
I wish mine was that size!! I was hoping for only 100 people and our guest list is at 190! I do not think 120 is too small.
I had a little under 100 (about 95). I wish it were a bit bigger more like 120. That being said, we had many great people there and I was happy. You'll be surrounded by so many people you love that you probably won't notice.
I think it depends on the size of the room. Does the venue offer different room sizes to accomodate different numbers of guests? For my first wedding, they had a number of different rooms and we picked based on the number of guests vs. the amount of people they recommended for each.
We'll be inviting at least 150-200 people, but with the wedding being out of town for most people, I expect more like 130 or so to come. How big is the banquet hall? The place we're looking at has two rooms, one for 150 people, and another for 200. We'll probably get the room that fits 200 people just in case. I don't think it hurts to have more space! It lets people breath and not feel crushed like sardines (believe me, I've been to a wedding that felt stuffed in the room).
Our guest list is currently at approximately 140. We are PRAYING for 120.
the room says it sits from 100-175. I just don't want the room to look bare. I have always been to weddings where there is at least 150 people.

I am nervous that our wedding is going to be to small. I know its not about how many people come but I am just worried our banquet room is going to look bare. I am inviting about 150 people. With all of our out of town guests, I am guessing that with our bridal party we will probably have 100-120 people. Did anyone else have this amount at their wedding? If so do you any pics of the reception facility set up for this size? I am worrying about so much and my wedding is not until August!!!
