When you send out the save the dates, people will probably start asking where you’re registered.  I would say to go ahead & do it either next month or September.  I don’t think it’s too far out.  Just keep an eye on your registries– sometimes stuff gets discontinued.

I’d be really careful with doing the registry early.  We did ours about a month out… last month, I found out our entire dish pattern was discontinued, so we had to re-do basically the whole registry (napkins, placemats, dishes, etc all matched the dishes…)

We are getting married in April 2013 and my FI and I did our registry last night at Bed Bath and Beyond.  It was sooo much fun!!  I still have one other place to register at but it takes a little stress off to have one more thing checked off the list 🙂

We are getting married Jan 2013 but we registered as soon as we got engaged in April. One reason was to get it out of the way so we didn’t have to worry about it later. The other benefit is if you want to take advantage of registry insentives it is better to do it sooner than later!!

I did mine the weekend before the shower invites went out.  I hadn’t really thought about doing it eariler.  I would imagine it’d be nice to get it over with sooner rather than later, one less thing for you to worry about.
