I am getting married this October and am trying to get save the dates in the mail this weekend… which means I need to finish the website… which means I need to complete a registry. AHHHH! I am interested in the whole “myregistry.com” idea where we can add anything anywhere to our registry but from my research it appears that it is complicated for users. I was wondering if anyone has used this for their registry and what their experience was. Also, we are waiting to go on our honeymoon until our 1 year anniversary since we will not be able to afford it after the wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences on which site, or if “myregistry.com” would be good for something like this (basically a cash gift but for a specific event). I don’t want to receive money towards a honeymoon and then lose half of it to the website! Please help! I’m running out of time.

@fings619: I have never used myregisty.com, but I had some friends use ourwishingwell.com. It was pretty easy to use as a guest.

http://www.weddingrepublic.com is supposed to be good, I am using it and my brother used it and had a good experience, you can customize and input any items or pics you want, there is a fee, like maybe 5%, but the person who is gifting to you pays, for example if they pick a $100 item (or what this site calls puzzle pieces they are charged $105). For my brother’s wedding the people that did not want to pay that extra fee just gave them cash in a card at the wedding instead.

You don’t need to finish the registry before sending STDs! I just didn’t put the link to the registry on the website until it was complete. Since the wedding is so far out, definitely consider this option. No one starts looking at gifts this early, so it’s acceptable to let people look at the website to get info and start planning, but just don’t link to the registry until it is ready.

I’ve never heard of that site and am not a big fan of money registries, but really no one will be using your wedding registry anyways until closer to the wedding once a shower is being planned and such. You’re perfectly fine to send out Save-The-Date Cards with the wedding website and not have any registry info on it yet.

I’m using myregistry.com and like it a lot. Not too difficult and you can set up a honeymoon fund through PayPal on it. I used honeyfund.com for my honeymoon registry though since I wanted them to be able to pick out specific extras.
