Wedding Regrets

I would have ditched my florist when they kept taking 2-3 weeks longer than they said they would to reply to emails/provide quotes! The end result was reflective of this service but I stuck with them because they did a good job on my sisters and a friends wedding.

I would have hired a DOC (if such a thing really existed where I live) to avoid the stress and rush of my mum, DH etc. having to set stuff up the morning off.

I would have not scheduled my mum to have her hair and make up done with us as she did nothing but complain about the results (she looked fine and many people complimented her on how she looked) and it was all apparently my fault.

I wouldn’t have had so many people over for a rehearsal dinner bbq the night before – DH just kept inviting more and more though, lol. It was too much in the end and we didn’t need the extra work and stress.

That’s all though really – our actual ceremony and reception were amazing and money well spent! Just the lead up on the day of was a bit of a nightmare!

CrunkPunch:  I got married three weeks ago. Here’s what I wish I had done:

I would have taken a few minutes to walk around and take everything in – A lot of people on here suggested that brides do this and I still didn’t do it. I didn’t notice any of the details I planned and I also didn’t eat (hardly) any of the food that I chose. We also had some issues with the caterer/staff/set up at the after party so I wish we had gone with someone else for that.

ETA: I would have tried to find a DOC or someone to properly set up the morning of the wedding. There was a massive rush because people had to leave to get ready because there was a lot of traffic and it was stressful for me, my mum and my friends that I asked to help.

I would have hired a DOC

I would have spent more time with my best friend while getting ready instead of stressing about my hair.

I would have ditched the corset I wore under my dress, it kept showing and causing my dress to fall down and I really didn’t need it. To add to this I think I would have demanded that my dress actually fit instead of taking it home when the seamstress said it was fine (I knew it wasn’t).

Other than those things I loved everything, and realistically, I’m the only one that noticed those things.

I think I would have paid more attention tot he food. We had a tasting and made some changes but I should have asked for more changes and followed up on the end result. In the end it didn’t turn out quite what I wanted.

I would have also gone with a different florist. Each time I went to meet with her I had to meet with her assistant and never got to actually meet with the florist. Because of that I think what I wanted got lost in translation.
