My fiance and I have been living together for over five years so don’t really need many traditional registry items. We’re also unique in that we’ve got family and friends in several different countries and we’re having events in three different countries. We wanted to do an online registry somewhere like Amazon because getting items back from several different places would probably be costly and complicated, but shipping prices to Estonia are insane! I found this website, Wedding Republic, that allows you to put items you want on the list and then people can give money towards them. It sounds great but I can’t find any reviews at all and I want to make sure it’s all legit before we sign up. Does anyone have experience with them? Thanks!r

Hmm. I’m feeling a little worried if not even the bees know anything about them!

Yeah, I did a quick search and I couldn’t find any reviews for this site either. It this site new? It sounds like a good idea but from the website, I don’t know if I would feel comfortable putting my credit card information on that site. If I was invited to your wedding, I would probably just send you a check. Also, I didn’t look at the website all that well but would they charge you a percentage of your gift amount to pay for their fees? Yeah, thinking about it more, makes me a bit nervous. It’s a great concept if it’s completely free but I think I would just send you a check with the amount I gift to you knowing that you can spend it all on whatever you want to spend it on.

@ttn133: Thanks for looking around! I fear you may be right about guests feeling uncomfortable using them.
I emailed them and they wrote back with a really helpful and informative response though so now I’m not sure!

I’ve never heard of this site either.
MyRegistry is another online universal registry where you can add items from all over the internet, local stores, etc. They have an option where you can allow guests to gift the item as a cash gift.
You can also add a “honeymoon” fund to it as well where guests can basically gift you money as well.
Hope that helps!
