I know a girl whose husband bought her a huge, clunky, fake ring that fit while she was pregnant. (I saw it and thought, "omg, is that really her ring? ugh!" but then when I found out it was the "sub" I thought it was really funny.)
For now my ring still fits... and the band alone is a bit bigger than my e-ring so maaaaaaaybe I'll make it through. BUT I think if needed I want to get a sub ring on the cheap. I definitely wouldn't feel right not wearing anything considering I NEVER take my rings off except when I'm cleaning them.
I just went and bought a spot holder because I felt too naked without mine too. I'm 26 weeks and started to swell a few weeks ago and it still fit but was tight, and now they are just too uncomfortable to wear.
I actually had a hard time decieding what we were going to get. We didn't want to spend a lot of money no more than $100 but I also wanted something that I would continue to wear on the other hand after the baby. I tried on plan bands but I didn't think I would wear that again, so I went with a thicker silver band ( much cheaper than white gold) and it has a few diamonds in it but it cris crosses. It's nice, I don't love it like my enagement and wedding band but at least it makes me feel like I am married when I wear it! We went to Zales and they had a nice sale, it was orginally $100 and we got it for $80 so that was plus.
I think I will buy a filler as well if this happens to me. It will be something I can re-size and wear after delivery.
i say just buy a nice plain band like a tungsten carbide plated with whatever your gold preference is in a much larger size.
I wear a very thin rose gold tungsten carbide to wear every day rough and tumble, with the horses, the dog, house work, errands and I never feel naked.
Thanks! I think I will look for something that I can wear at least for the next few months. I'm terrified of it getting stuck and having to have it cut off. A co-worker had that happen last summer and the heat from the saw the ER used to cut it burned her finger really bad.
My hands started to swell around the beginning of my third trimester.. after almost having them be totally stuck, I took them off for good. Never got around to getting a placeholder (I'm 37 weeks now so not gonna happen) and it has been weird, especially since for the first few weeks every time I'd wash my hands I'd freak out since I wouldn't feel my rings!
At 24 weeks my rings still fit, and I am hoping that the winter cold will balance out the third trimester swelling (my fingers shrink so much during the winters). If it doesn't, then I think I will get an inexpensive but classic band for the rest of pregnancy. It will be an investment for us since we are planning on having more children.
I'm 26 weeks and up until this week it was fine. It would be a little snug at the end of the day but I could get it off no problem. Right now I can get it on, but I feel my finger swelling up around it in the afternoon and I'm scared one day I won't be able to get it back off...
I was scared of swelling so I took my rings off before it happened and wore my wedding ring around my neck on a silver chain.
You should do whatever you're most comfortable with. I probably stopped wearing my engagement ring at 5 months and my wedding band stopped fitting comfortably at about 7 months. Personally, I wouldn't want to wear a fake ring, since my wedding band is way more important to me than showing the world that I am, in fact, married. I have a very sturdy silver bracelet that I wear every day and I wear my wedding band on that, so that it's with me.
But do whatever feels comfortable and right to you.
I was able to get my rings on and off without a problem throughout my entire pregnancy and wore them all the way through, however, I think if they didn't fit when I was 26 week I would have gotten a cheap stand in ring. I think I would just feel more comfortable with a ring on my finger. I'd feel naked, like something was missing, without it. Good luck!

As of last week my bump really "popped", it's large, it's out front, there's no hiding it, had to buy real maternity clothes, etc. But the saddest thing is that my hands have started to swell when it's humid and my ring doesn't fit anymore.
What should I do? Get another ring?? My hand feels naked without it. I have it on a chain right now but it doesn't feel right. I've only had it since January and really love it, it's still my new thing, you know?
Any momma bees have any suggestions?
