BirdieNY:  it really depends on why type of style you are going for, and the metal.

We spent I believe $2400 for our rings (total-not each)

My wedding band is a diamond band (3/4 of the way around), platinum, engraved

DHs is just a plain platinum band

It also depends on where you live, we got our rings through a private jewler in Manhattan

BirdieNY:  That’s a pretty open question. You can get a plain ol’ band for 50 bucks. Or you can get a big, juicy perfect diamond for multiple thousands of dollars.

Mine was $800 (14k rose gold with flower engraving that matches my e-ring) and FI’s was $400 (14k plain rose gold band).

Try looking at some retail sites online – that should give you a good idea. 🙂

BirdieNY:  well when I researched rings I would say ballpark my FI’s ring would cost $500 and a ladies band either no diamonds or just a few set in it approx $1200. In the end we didn’t buy my FI a ring at all as he won’t wear a ring, something I expected and find normal in a man. Originally we considered buying a cheap one for $100 for the ceremony but in the end We’re just exchanging one ring, mine. It means just as much.

I wanted a channel set diamond half eternity ring for my band…so not as cheap as a standard band!  It’s what you want, what you can afford or want to spend but also remember what it means! And that you’ll wear it for the rest of your life x

Mine was $3170, I believe. It’s a platinum eternity band with .5 carats of channel set diamonds. It matched my engagement ring, which is why we chose it. We haven’t purchased FI’s yet, but he wants platinum, so we’re budgeting about $1500. Obviously, the type of metal and/or the presence of diamonds greatly affects the price.

We also got mine at a small, local jeweler.

Gold is expensive. Diamonds are beyond expensive. What type of rings are you looking for?

Mine’s about $700 (retail, hopefully we can get a discount) and I’m still debating between a tungsten ($120) or a palladium ($550) band. I might get both so he can have an everyday band and a nice band.

What kind of rings? Both FI and I had super super simple gold rings, mine had some very low-quality diamonds in them. We spent about $600 on his (a 14k yellow gold ring), $300 on mine (10k white gold ring). The men’s ring will always be more when it comes to gold alone simply due to its size. is a really great wholesale site that has been around for a long time that would be perfect if you’re looking for something simple and classic .

BirdieNY:  Mine was $1100. FI’s was $100.

Mine is a ring wrap/guard (so has  bands on both sides of my engagement ring) and was $1400, but the jeweler gave us a discount. It’s 14K and .3 carats total.

FI’s is made of titanium and was only $100.

BirdieNY:  Our wedding bands came in at $2,195 for me and $3,695 for him. If I had had a say in it, mine would have cost $250 for a lovely gold band and he could still keep his bling ring. When I see what other people paid for what I assume to be similarly styled, channel-set bands, I cringe!

My DHs is plain gold, but thick and was $1000.  I have a few bands, to micx and match.  My plain one with engraving was $800 and my diamonds ones start around $3500.

We spend $400 on his. and he loves it!! He didnt think he wanted bling, but he got some. Couldnt believe what you can get for male rings and the inexpensive price tag.

He spent $4800 on mine. 2 years and i am still in aw with it. I would have been more than happy with a simple band, bling or no bling.
