I’m sure this has been discussed, but just to bring it up again – what did you all do when your rings stopped fitting? I’m 26 weeks and my platinum band no longer slides over my knuckle. My engagement ring is a little bigger and has sizer beads, so it still fits. I also have a rose gold band that I wear on my right hand (which was used in my Jewish wedding ceremony) – it barely slides over my finger, but I can’t bear not to wear it! Should I just put my bands away and buy some cheapo stand-ins? I definitely shouldn’t get my rings sized now, right? Hopefully my fingers will go back to normal after the pregnancy!

My SIL wore her rings on a necklace while pregnant because her fingers were swollen. Do not resize the rings, this is normal!

I had to quit wearing my engagement ring a few weeks ago because it is smaller than the wedding band. I’m still wearing the wedding band but I’m not sure for how much longer.
I don’t plan on buying any stand-ins nor resizing, but I only have a little more than 4 weeks to go. I completely understand it bugging you though. I am a teacher and I have at least wanted to wear my wedding band to avoid “looks”. (Even though I sign everything “Mrs.”)
Also, I realized that that does not sound nice, LOL. There is nothing wrong with being unmarried and having children, but I live in a very conservative area and people can be judge-y.

I’m 20 weeks and had to use the string method to get my engagement ring off! My wedding band is still stuck. I’ll be trying the string method again…
If I find a cheap stand in set, I’ll buy it. I feel naked withut my rings!

My engagement ring got too tight around 26 weeks and my wedding band held out until 29, I now just go ringless. I would have loved to buy stand-ins but for the price I was willing to pay they all looked pretty cheap.

I got a cheap stand-in eternity band from Berricle. I couldn’t stand for my finger to be bare – I felt naked! 🙂

Mine stopped fitting last week at 34 weeks 🙁 I’m wearing a cheap band for the time being. I feel better with a ring on!

Don’t resize! They will get back to normal.

My dad bought me a stand-in wedding band for me because mine didn’t fit after I believe 20-something weeks. I didn’t wear my original set until my child was around 4-5 months.

@tnbellebee: I know what you mean! I don’t think there is anything wrong with having kids and not being married either but now that I look really pregnant I just prefer to have my rings on when I go out … still fitting me but who knows what the next 7 weeks will hold!

Don’t resize, and definitely take them off ASAP if they are getting too tight. I work in jewelry and I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had to cut rings off of pregnant women who didn’t think they’d need to stop wearing them because they were just a teeny bit tight, but then randomly swelled up more and had them be tight to the point of painful.
Wear them on a chain around your neck, or safely store them and wear loose stand-ins until after the baby 🙂
