i engraved my guy's. it says 'i love you babe' because i call him babe. i was just going to put 'i love you' because after going over the millions of things i could have written, i realized they all just boiled down to i love you. but mom said 'say i love you babe because you always call him babe' so i did, it made it more personal.
i also have one of the diamonds out of my ring set inside the o in 'love'. its very small and had to be taken out of the band so the center stone could be set in its place. and that made it sweeter to us both.
good luck, and dont worry about it too much or overthink it. you might stray too far from something that fits you guys.
Just being the goof I am but how about "Don't forget our anniversary" LOL. Kidding!
I think engraving is a great idea, and when the right saying presents itself, you'll know :-)
Let us know what you finally decide on.

We went with our wedding verse, which was on our invitations and program... "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" (Song of Solomon 5:6
My ring reads ... "I am my beloved's" and my husband's reads, "my beloved is mine."

If you can't think of anything, you could always wait and do it later, maybe as a first anniverary gift. It might be better than just engraving it for the sake of engraving it.
Let us know what you decide!
Because we both speak many languages, but only share one, we decided to get an engraving in German. It's also fitting because his last name (and soon mine!) is very German. We chose "Wir Zusammengehoren" (there's a diacritical mark over the o) which means "We belong to one another." So it's romantic but also "us"!
my husband engraved his because he wanted it - he put "9.1.2007 until forever"
Mr. Kiwi's was engraved with "More than everything" and the date. Mine has nothing. Anyone know if you can get something engraved at a place you didn't buy the rings?

Hi Girls,
The latest "to do" item on our wedding checklist is to purchase the wedding bands. My FI just wants a plain gold wedding band. No diamonds, nothing flashy. He works a lot with his hands, and it suits him. I am going for the band that matches my e-ring, it fairly simple with some channel set diamonds. Because they are fairly simple, we have decided to engrave the rings on the inside to make them more personalized. I think it is a wonderful idea.
My FI knows exactly what he wants to engrave in mine but refuses to tell me because he wants it to be a surprise... GGRRR! I want to know! My trouble is that I can't think of what exactly I want to engrave his with.
I keep tossing around ideas... one day I want it to be something smart, witty and an inside thing that only me and him know. But then the next day I want it to be something romantic, traditional like "forever love" or "Always my love" I don't know, then it seems corny. It is hard to come up with something that is not too long and yet meaningful to us.
Are any of you engraving your rings? Any suggestions or inspriration?
