@Nikkimcq:  I plan on having a certain fraction not RSVP or have late RSVPs.  Stuff gets lost in the mail, forgotten, etc.  It’s worth it to assume the best and call them up and ask.

I think 15 days is def enough time.

@Nikkimcq:  We gave ourselves 4 weeks to get the stragglers, and we still just barely got responses from everyone on time. If you know the people you’re inviting tend to be organized and punctual, than I think 15 days is fine; otherwise, I would give yourself more time.

Remember, a lot of people think the RSVP deadline is when they need to MAIL it by, so it’s probably best to wait 4-5 days after the deadline to start contacting people who haven’t responded. Then you’ll have people that “are pretty sure they’re coming, but will have to get back to you,” and you’ll need to hound them again.

Hello date twin! For me, the earlier the better. I want to have a firm number in my head so I can move on to the things that require the guest count.

@Nikkimcq:  my RSVP date is 1 month before the wedding and 2 weeks before I have to have numbers to caterers – so very similar to yours.  I think it’s fine.
