I walked in to pink and white table clothes, balloons, and the cutest flowerpot daisy centerpieces. We had an amazing spread of staple homecooked favorites: taco salad, cowboy caviar, bruschetta, walnut berry spinach salad, and delicious catered beef sandwiches and chicken from Baraccos. We played a few games and we opened a gazillion presents. It went by in a flash.
If I were to do it all again make sure you: take a game break in between opening gifts, (guests get restless, and bride needs a water break)take as many pictures as you can with all of your guests, including: a bridemaids shot, pic with your mom and future mom-in-law, with the flower girls, and don’t forget to take a pic with your fiancee. All we have is us opening presents!
When all was said and done, I didn’t get to eat a piece of cake or any cupcakes. But my hubs to be, saved the say as he brought one home.
It was an amazing day, that so many people put countless hours into planning every last detail. I can’t believe how blessed we are with such supportive family and friends. We definitely felt showered by love by the end of the day.
