Most showers I have been to have been on Saturdays or Sundays at 1.  I have probably been to 15 or so, and every single one has had alcohol.

How about a Sunday brunch at 11 with mimosas and a bloody mary bar?

I think showers and events on Sundays are inconvenient at best. That’s a day I like to retain for my family and not for attending social events. I voted for Saturday afternoon WITH mimosas.

@jg780806:  Mine was on a Sunday at 11 am, WITH alcohol.  Fun summer spiked lemonades and punches.  I prefer late morning showers only becaue it doesn’t disrupt your entire day.  I was home by 1:30 pm and able to be really productive the rest of the day, and FI and I had date night.  Brunch/lunch was served so guests had a filling meal.

If you’re going for a cocktail party, I would suggest a Saturday evening.

Definitely 1 on Saturday, that way everyone has the morning of and evening for themselves. 🙂

Definitely Saturday.  I would do a 3 or 4 pm start time to have wine and cocktails.  1 or 2 pm would be my preferred start time after that.  5 or 6 is too late unless you’re providing dinner.  In which case I would love to go to a dinner/cocktails/wine shower in the evening Smile  However you will probably make most people happy by leaving free their morning and evening.

Most wedding showers I’ve been to have alcohol.  I’d die if there wasn’t any!

Mine was a Saturday at 10am with various mimosas or mimosa spinoffs, brunch foods, and cupcakes. LOVED it.

I really really really like Sunday afternoon brunch showers, with ot without alcohol.  Saturday brunches are OK too.

I’ve never liked a shower that wasn’t over by 4 pm.  I don’t remember them being longer than otehr showers, but they felt liked they dragged on forever.  Though they weren’t styled like a cocktail party either.  If I had to watch someone open one more piece of cookware at 6 pm, I’d go nuts.
