    Hey Fellow Bees!

I am making our wedding slideshow for our wedding and I have chosen "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart. The problem is that the song is about a 4 min 10 second song and I have had to add at least 45 pictures to the slideshow just so it will fill up the time. My FI's song is "Dirt Road Anthem" which is also about a 4 min song. I do not want our guests to get bored. Please Help!

    Thanks!

@OHBridefromCA: cut down the songs. skip a verse, use the bridge only - something like that.

@hisgoosiegirl: Thanks! I have tried that but it sounds weird. Im wondering at this point, if i should just choose a shorter song.

You could always try fading one into the next - so there aren't actually cuts, just a fade-out/fade-in

    That or a shorter song.

Our slideshow was actually like 10 minutes long - but we meant for it to play during dinner, so people weren't forced to sit and stare. But the DJ/venue messed up and made everyone sit and wait. I didn't even realize it until halfway through, but it must have been ok, because people kept laughing or clapping the whole time. Still irks, me lol, I did NOT want to be 'that bride' who made her guests sit and wait. I guess they got to eat their salad though.

I do the slideshows for all of my friend and family weddings. They are almost always 8-10 minutes long and they really don't seem that long. How long are you flashing each picture for? I tend to find that shorter is better - 3 to 4 seconds max. It also depends on the kind of pictures...are you doing just couples pictures? If they're growing up photos too, they're often funny and enjoyable for people to see for longer periods of time.

If you're still concerned about time, I agree with the PP who talked about fading the songs. Cutting at the end of a slideshow can sound choppy... you can cut the first song short and start the second song later if you're wanting to keep the time down.

@MsMonkey: I have multiple pictures that we had planned on using. Im using forever young by rod stewart for my song and my FI is using Dirt Road anthem for his portion. I am trying to fade the songs but trying to find the right time in the song to fade is difficult. For my song i have entered in almost 45 pics and for his its about the same. I definitely do not want guests to get bored.
