@knegron:  this should probably be in the “paper” section, but no it does not, it however is nice to have a cohesive look through out (example; dont do scrolls on menu and polka dots on program) that type of thing looks like someone didnt even try to me. and trying to stick with a colour scheme that you are using for your wedding or keeping it neutral works best too. but thats just my opinion

I’m with @MrsRayner on this one. If you have any sort of graphic or design going on, I’d try to stick with it throughout. Not everything has to have it, but I wouldn’t go for something drastically different on the pieces that don’t. 

However, as far as color goes, I’m all for mixing it up. I LOVE contrasting colors and just bright, vibrant stuff in general. So for our food, I made up little cards of what each thing is. The colors of the papers are different, but the design is the same on the background paper and every little sign has the same elements.

That probably isn’t exactly what you mean, but I think the basic idea applies.
