my parents did a VERY western wedding!! for their cake topper they had a little hay bale with black and white cowboy hats on top and a little lasso leaning against it, it was very cute!! If you arent already you could do a country first dance song? I really like the horseshoe idea! are you doing that on every table?
here are some horseshoe cufflinks

and for the bout you could just wrap it in twine type rope instead of fabric?
You could do a mechanical bull! =) No really, you could put little signs on the back of your chairs, "Cowboy" & "Cowgirl"??? You could also do a cute cake topper.
I love the bouts on this website. There are a few western-y ones in the gallery, but I think she does a lot of custom stuff mostly.
You may consider haybale centerpieces instead of flowers. And they sit perfectly to put table number signs in. You could also do leather decorations instead of flowers, but keep it down. You don't want it to end up looking like a honky tonk! LOL I love the idea.
I second bull riding;)
What about for the rehearsal? FI and I are both big bluegrass fans, so we're having a country-themed rehearsal dinner and are both wearing our cowboy boots!!
Why not show off his love of western things with your cake?! There are cute, non-tacky ways of doing this.
We got married in the mountains on a Western Ranch. We didn't do much decoration wise that was Western (because the whole place already was), but our wedding had a western elegant feel. Feel free to check out our pictures on my blog (www.runninglawyer.blogspot.com).
However, we did have a VERY Western rehearsal dinner. We had a mountain-top BBQ and everyone wore their Western gear. Could you do something like that for your FI at the rehearsal?

Hi hive,
I was hoping you might be able to give me some ideas. My fiance really likes western/old cowboy things. He even knows how to lasso. I want to add a few touches to the wedding that include his western interests without having an over the top cowboy reception. I was thinking maybe giving him western cufflinks or a western style boutonnierre but I am having trouble finding those. Also I was going to get a heart shaped horseshoe to put on the table. I would love some ideas of a few more things I can add. Thanks.
