I have been trying to decide what I want to do for the Thank You cards for the wedding gifts we received. I was originally planning on having cards made with pictures from the wedding, but I have another idea now and wanted some feedback on it. We are leaving for our honeymoon on Saturday (tomorrow) and I was thinking about getting different postcards from the places we go and sending them as our thank you notes. I would like to add that we will be writing a personalized note on every one regarding the particular gift we are thanking the guest for and wont be sending them until after we get back from our honeymoon. Also, I would get post card envelopes to mail them in because I do not like the idea of anyone being able to see what is written on the card while it is in transit. Please let me know if this sounds like a stupid idea.

It sounds like a cute idea, but honestly I don’t really care what the thank you card looks like as long as I get a thank you card. If they seem expensive or you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t stress about it while you’re on the honeymoon. The words in the card and the fact that you send one are what is important.

@cheebs: +1, especially about the budget part, I didn’t realize post cards are so expensive, we sent a few while on our HM and dang! They jack up the prices in the touristy areas.
Plus just plain sending one is what counts, and you’ll have more room to write on an actual card. Also, I doubt the post man reads your mail…
