My save the dates went out a few weeks ago, and I noticed that no one really mentioned that they got them. So, I asked about it, and about 1/2 of the people that got them said they were either damaged or completely destroyed when they got them. I am SO upset! I know it’s stupid, and for the wedding invitiations I will definitely be having them hand cancel them.
Well, now I’m on to painting some DIY projects and the paint went on fine for the 1st coat, but the 2nd coat started bubbling and cracking and I am about to cry. I feel like everything I am doing is pointless and stupid because it’s all getting ruined. Anyone else run into their projects going poorly? I am so sad because I really thought I was a crafty and creative person.

How frustrating!!! Do you know how the Save-The-Date Cards were destroyed?? Also, what type of paint are you using and what type of surface are you painting? Take a deep breath and go do something fun with Fiance. Come back to the painting when you are a little more relaxed. Everything will be okay, even if you’re having a few bumps in the road.

Why don’t you check out this: http://offbeatbride.com/2010/10/diy-fail
It gave me a laugh, even while I identified how horribly 80% of my diy projects throughout the years have gone. Your wedding will go awesome in the end, and I agree with @Papillon23 – share your process. Maybe one of us other bees will be able to give some advice! I know a bit about artist paints, and while I’ve had horrible luck with some craft paints- other bees might know which brands will work better/worse.
But for now, I say have something caloric and read the offbeatbride article or watch a show and relax for a little while 🙂

lol! Good article! I actually was using spray paint and I was so excited to see how beautiful it looked with the first coat. I don’t understand what I did wrong. I stripped it with paint stripper, and I will be re-attempting it with regular paint and a paintbrush.
