I met with my site coordinator last weekend. He would like a specific timeline of events and such, and I'm at a loss.
When are the toasts given and by whom? I've seen just BM and just MOHs give toasts. Then I've seen a bride give a toast and a bride and groom. Do they do it before/during/after the mean?
Normally the BM & MOH give a speech during dinner. But since it's your wedding you can have them make it whenever! Ask your DJ or site coordinator for ideas too. They may have some timelines from previous weddings that you could look at. Good luck!
Our BM and MOH are both giving toasts, and then my FI will thank everyone for coming. My parents may also say something, but maybe not...depends on how well my dad is holding up that day!
Everyone will give their toasts during dinner right before we cut the cake. (The cake is serving as our only dessert, and we are doing a seated dinner.)
Often times the older people look at the cake cutting as a sign that it's okay to leave. So we're doing the cake cutting about an hour and a half in before the open bar really kicks in and everyone gets too crazy!
I can't help you on the speech thing because I'm at a lost myself until my planner helps me out with that, but I know our cake cutting is at 9:30PM and our dinner was to start at 7PM but my planner anticipates that the first course won't be served until 7:30PM when people are seated.

And when is a good time to cut the cake?
Thanks!
