Hey!! I need some advice on a wedding timeline. The ceremony start time is 330pm. I was told the ceremony (Lutheran Church ceremony) usually lasts 30-35 minutes unless more music is added which we are not planning on doing. After the ceremony we are planning on having a receiving line at the church which I was told usually last 30 minutes (~170-200 guests MAX). After the receiving line it is a 10 minute drive to the reception site. We are planning on doing most of our pictures beforehand but there will be some after the ceremony. Therefore most of the guests will get to the reception before us. What time do I advertise as the beginning of Cocktail hour??

Here is my timeline so far, I’m really struggling with this. Could you review and make comments/suggestions?
330-415 Ceremony at church (30-35min ceremony)
415-445 Receiving line at the church (~170-200 guests max)
15 minute drive from church to reception site
5-6 cocktail hour at reception site
545 wedding party intro
6-??? dinner (not sure how much time to allot for dinner. it’s buffet style ~170-200 guests max.
645-7 all guests should have been able to go through buffet line… okay to start toasts (15min)
720-take sunset photos. so this is really important to me to get a handful of good sunset photos. most of our photos will be done before the ceremony, maybe a few between ceremony and reception.
8-first dance, then wedding party, etc.
if this is the case, what time should the reception end at? otherwise i can make the ceremony start time later too if it makes sense to do so.
we are planning on having a cake/dessert table so no cake will need to be served by anyone.
Does this timeline need any adjusting?! suggestions? am i leaving too much time for some things and not enough time for others? how long do you think it would take for that many people to eat at a buffet style dinner? THANKS SO MUCH!!
