I am having a morning reception (somewhere between 11 and noon) followed by a lunch reception.
For any bees that did this, when did you do your photography?
I am thinking of doing ours either right after ceremony or possibly after the reception. How long does photography usually take?

Do you really want to miss your reception? Wait until agree to take pics. I’m not doing a day wedding, but for our engagement pics our photographer has said late afternoon/early vending before sunset is the best outdoor light for pics.

For my first wedding, we had a ceremony at 10:00 followed by the reception at 11:30. That gave us one hour in between to take some pictures as they had to set up the area for the reception. We went outside, did the family pictures and then went to the reception. The reception ended by 1:30 so then we went with the photographer after to take our couple pictures. It was great – very relaxed, no hurry to get anywhere, nobody waiting for us, just us and the photographer. And the lighting was perfect. We took about 2 hours worth of pictures.

I guess if we did the pictures right after the ceremony, we would serve some h’orderves etc. I am just wondering how long pictures usually take to know if people will get bored waiting around etc since our ceremony and reception our at same location.
