I LOVE, love, love, the idea of a wedding tree at the reception!

The problem is, we hired a photobooth, which will help the guests create a guestbook with messages and their pictures from the booth.

Do you think it would be overkill to have a wedding tree along with the guestbook?

I love the tree idea! If we weren't doing a photobooth, I would definitely consider it. You know where I'm going with this...

I think it would be redundant to have both as a sign in, but ultimately it's your wedding and if you want to do both, I say go for it.

Unless people don't want to actually do both...I would hate for you to miss out on fingerprints or photos because people either didn't know there were 2 sign ins or didn't want to do both.

BUT, maybe the prints could be your ceremony sign in, and photobooth could be strictly for reception entertainment and well wishes?

@pinkpaperbride: That's exactly what I was thinking but didn't want to say it. I think the tree is super cute and would look awesome hanging up in the house. But, we love the photobooth because we can look back at how people looked on that day, rather than just reading a signature. Oh decisions!

@upstatebroad: We've ordered a wedding tree (exactly like your top image) because we like the idea of framing it and having it as a reminder of the day. I think that a photobooth album serves a different purpose - something you could look through every now and again, which would probably invoke more about specific parts of the day. I think it would be fine to have both, as long as there's time for people to do both. :)

You could do the wedding tree for your rehersal dinner guests and the photo booth for the reception.  Then your tree is a little more personal with those closest to you.  I am just favoring the tree since it is something that can be displayed in your home and seen daily, instead of flipping through an album once a year or so.
