If you wanted to buy them, I believe the usual ones are called manzanita trees – you can find them on save-on-crafts.com.  Otherwise, the woods!

I actually got something that looked similar to them off my dads farm and I cemented them into a terracotta pot and I am spray painting them white for my winter themed wedding. Total cost for my centerpieces:

trees= $0

cement= $3

pot= $1/each = $15

paint = $10

total cost= $28 = $1.86 each  Smile
