You don't have to worry about having a "cool" wedding with the latest trends... the important thing is that you and your SO have a great day (along with your friends and family). One of the best weddings I went to had almost no trends at all, but it was sincere and heartfelt and Mrs. Bee and I had a wonderful time!
That said, if a trend strikes your fancy... nothing wrong with incorporating it into your wedding either!
The main thing is doing what feels natural to you and your FI :-).

So I feel out of the loop and didn't realize these were the current wedding trends! What is a birdcage veil?? How do you do a photobooth? And why colored shoes??
My sister in law did do the candy booth which was cute. That's about all I know about!
