Hey Girls — for my wedding I am planning a simple elbow or fingertip length veil because it will be outdoors and VERY windy. However we’re doing our private pictures before the ceremony and I’m thinking I’d love the drama of a cathedral veil for those pics. My question is, do you think I’ll totally mess up my hair if I try to switch veils? I’ve heard those with a metal comb go in and come out smoother. I’ll have an updo, again because of the wind. Probably a simple comb veil that tucks in low in back.

I’m thinking about a cathedral veil for exactly the same reason! I don’t know that I’d want to risk my hair. Maybe ask a bridal salon for thoughts, or try taking your veil on and off after a hair trial?

Metal comb, and an updo that ensures your hair is flat and snag-free (no twists or curls) RIGHT where the comb needs to go in, is the recipe for success. My ceremony veil came out no problem and didn’t mess up my ‘do at all!
