Why do wedding vendors feel the need to take a week to respond to every email?!?
I had this problem when I was trying to book photographers. Now my videographer takes a week to reply to emails (going to make the FI just call them I guess). I’m trying to find a makeup artist, they all seem to take a week to reply back, if they reply at all. Do these people not want the business? Sometimes I understand the delay because they do travel out of the state/country, but at least reply on your iphone and say “I’m out of town right now or Sorry I’m already booked for that date”.

My makeup artist took a while to get back to me, but everyone else responded within a day or two. If they took much longer, it weighed against them in the decision making process. It’s so frustrating when they won’t get back to you! If you send a follow-up, maybe word it like “I’m following up in response to my email sent on __. I am very interested in using you as my (vendor type) for my (date) wedding. Please respond as soon as possible regarding (prices/dates/availiability/whatever you’re looking for). If I don’t hear from you by (3-4 days in the future), I will assume you are either unavailable or otherwise uninterested. Thanks! MissNumbers”
It’s very to the point, but after waiting over a week, I think warranted.

@abbie017: Oh, when I was booking vendors, I didn’t choose the ones that took forever to respond. But now it seems like since I’ve made the deposits/payments, they can take all the time in the world. I use the reply feature in gmail, so all the emails are always kept together.
