Try Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown. It's very nice and the prices were great as well. It was our #2 on the list for us. But we ultimately decided on a Boston hotel because out wedding is on New Year's Eve so we wanted people to be able to just walk to their rooms afterward.

I have always loved the Wayside Inn and growing up, I thought I would get married outside at the Grist Mill and then do a reception at the Inn. It didn't work out for us (size of space plus pricing) but I still love the charm!
We're getting married at the Wesson Estate in Northborough and are really happy so far with it. You might also try the Commander's Mansion in Watertown--it also has some personality/charm but we didn't think the surrounding area was as spacious.
My cousin got married (cermony and reception) at Gibbet Hill in Norton- it was gorgeous, and so fun. Here is a blog of someone else's wedding there:
I'm getting married at and having my reception at the Gloucester elks
You can def. keep this under 15K and right by the sea :)
The Hoosic Club in Milton would fit that depending on which caterer you choose. It's gorgeous!
@littlecat: Gibbett Hill is actually in Groton : ) I got married there. It's beautiful but she'll have a very hard time staying within that budget. I think they set our foot and drink minimum at $14,500 and that was in the off season. And didn't include the actual venue rental charge.
I'm getting married at Chester's at Bell Tower Square in Lawrence.
I know, I know...Lawrence... BUT
-you absolutely will not beat the price
- if you get off the right exit on 495, you don't see ANY of the less pretty section of the city. Its right by the river in one of the old brick mills
- its totally customizable - just a big room of beautiful exposed brick, floor to ceiling windows, and gorgeous hardwood floors. They also don't restrict you to picking specific caterers or party rentals
- they have a bunch of antique furniture in the building - cool old couches and stuff - so if you're considering a vintagey theme, its AAAAAmazing
- I can't speak highly enough of the coordinator, Elizabeth. She's been friendly, upfront, and quick to return emails.
they have a facebook page if you want to see pictures. or message me if you have any questions. :)
@mandypop: my parents went to a wedding there a few weeks ago. They said it was pretty awesome and the room was HUGE!
yay!! Glad to hear they liked it. I'm really excited about it. But I gotta ask, were your parents all "uhh...Lawrence?"
I'm just wondering if I should get ready to expect that reaction, haha. But we're planning on having a shuttle bus from the hotel in Andover anyway, because I don't want ANYONE drunky driving.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I think I might have to expand my location a little or rework my budget. hmmm....

Hello Busy Bees :)
I am newly engaged and looking for a wedding venue in the Boston area for 115 people. I am trying to find a place close to Essex County because that's where both our parents live (close being no more than an hour or so away). We would also like to have our ceremony and reception at the same venue. I would like to not pay more than $15000 for the venue/food/beverages (including open bar). I really like the charm of the Wayside inn. Any other suggestions?
Thank you!!
