I love the idea of incorporating the putting green and shuffleboard!! It's just another element of entertainment
.
I think it's a great idea.
However, is there any way you can go to the venue after the construction is done to take a look at it and verify that it will still work for your ceremony/ cocktail hour? Though they're telling you that it will still work, you definitely don't want to go there shortly before your wedding day and be unpleasantly surprised that its not as they said.

I need your help ladies and to tell you what I need help with I need to tell you the full story, so bear with me. I am a wedding coordinator for a living. I am getting married myself on November 5th, 2010. I got hooked up with a gorgeous venue for an insanely amazing price. But it is a Community Center (like a YMCA type thing) but it has a GORGEOUS ballroom. There is a huge lawn/backyard space that we were planning to use for our ceremony & cocktail hour. So last Thursday I got a call that they are apparently putting in shuffle board on one side of the lawn and a putting green on the other side of the lawn. Supposedly there is still space in the middle of the lawn to do the ceremony.... I have not personally seen the space yet. At first I was pissed and slightly bridezilla. Now that I am calm I have an idea (as any good wedding planner does).......
what about incooperating the shuffle board and putting green into our cocktail hour & pictures. My FH and his brother (BM) and best friend (GM) are avid golf players. How cute would it be taking pictures of them in tuxes on a putting green?!?! We could set up some sort of putting competition and shuffle board competition - not sure on "prizes" if that's too cheesy or not....
So hive, I need your opinion. If you were me, what would you do, how would you do it??? My invitations have gone out, so I can't change the venue and getting pissed off isn't worth the energy. So how do I make this work in my favor???
