So the fiance and I plan to get married at the Metropolitan Building in LIC, NY. Has anyone gotten (or will be) married there? If so, any advice? Some specific questions I have for now are 1) is the owner open to negotiations/discounts? 2) does she provide speakers/mics/etc? 3) What is the food like? 4) Does anyone know of good bar caterers, esp ones where I can buy my own alcohol for their use?

Also ask about any additional costs… they may have the pa system/speakers but that might cost extra..
also set-up/tear-down costs… ask ask ask!
I corresponded TONS with my venue and it wasn’t until just a mth ago (2 mths from my wedding date) that I found out we have to PAY to come in and set up! And believe me when I say I’m incredibly thorough with asking questions.. over & over & over.
And READ your contract.. otherwise have fun! =)

Hi – I’m getting married there too! From what I understand there is no PA system – speakers, mixer, mics etc. She said we could use her vases which I thought was very nice. My friend is hiring bartenders for me and we’re bringing all the liquor ourselves. What is your date? Best wishes and happy planning ktc
