I really would like to choose my own vows for my wedding next year. I would love to hear what vows all of you used, or plan to use for your weddings! Please share!
Here is a short one that I like:
All that I am and all that I have, I offer to you in love and in joy.
From this day forward I will love and comfort you, hold you close,
prize you above all others,
and remain faithful to you all the days of our lives.

Here is the first draft for ours:
Do you promise to be true to each other in joy and in sorrow?
To care for each other in sickness and in health?
To trust one another in triumph and in trial?
To honor each other in your words and actions?
To cherish one another with love and grace until you are parted by death?

This is longer, but it’s what he wrote to me. (I’m sharing his because they were way better than mine, haha). Personal and sweet – though this translation doesn’t do it justice (it’s much more poetic in Spanish).
An I love you. An I love you was the surrender of distance, of time, of all differences. Everything that separated us, surrendered. From there – a smile, and a laugh; those eyes and a look; a spin on the dance floor… A kiss. An instant. An I love you.
Dani, I love every little detail about you. I promise to be yours always, and to walk the path of life together; to give you a kiss with the morning sun, and a hug every night; to be with you when everything else seems to be gone, and when the bliss of happiness covers us with its cloak. If health turns its back on us, I´ll be by your side. If money is lacking, or if it enriches our lives, I’ll be there. I’ll be there when a tear wets your face, and when a smile illuminates it. I promise to protect you and take care of you. I would love the blessing of a family as an extension of our lives.
Dani, I love you and no force exists which could ever change that. From this day forward, I unite with you always. Te amo.
