People just like to complain! It seems to be a trend on these boards!
Yeah, don't worry about it! I think it makes sense to send your shower invites after your wedding invites. Why have a wedding shower before letting people know when your wedding is? Then isn't that an engagement party? But that just my opinion. Anyways, yeah, you have nothing to worry about. Weddings always give people reason to complain about SOMETHING, no matter what you do.
I must agree with scrapspoflife on this one... I think people need to know about the wedding before they know about the shower!

ok so i just send out my wedding invites for my wedding in the end of october....i did think it was a little early but my future mil was very persistant that we send them out now. so my mom who was in charge of the shower invites hasn't sent them out yet and now many of my older guests are complaining that the wedding invites went out before the shower invites. i mean really they are only going a couple days after the wedding invites.....does it matter that much??? i just need a few outside opinions. thanks so much
