I’m completely torn! So here’s the deal. Our church prohibits pretty much anything being thrown (rice, birdseed, confetti, flower petals, etc.). Our reception is at an art museum that prohibits bubbles from the property. We were wanting to do a big exit from the church and I had my heart set on the wedding wands (with bells to double as kissing bells). I was also going to add a little poem so people know what to do with them:
“No rice or seeds to toss up high
when the bride and groom are passing by,
But wedding bells rung strong and clear
resound good luck to all who hear!
Ring for laughter or ring for a kiss
And ring that this couple will always find bliss.”
When I told Fi, he thought it was a dumb idea and really wanted bubbles. What should we do? And if you think we should do bubbles, how can I politely inform people that they can’t bring them into the reception and make sure the little kids don’t throw a fit?

Maybe remind your Fiance that the bubbles cannot be used in the museum and the wands could go with your guests throughout the day and then google pics of the wands in action and he can see how good they look? We’re having our ceremony and reception at one place so there really is no need for rice and bubbles but I thought the wands would be great for photo ops. The wedding coordinator at our place tried to discourage me from spending the money (shocker right?) but I think they are fun so I will probably just go ahead and make them or purchase them from etsy.com.

I like the wedding wands or the bells. I was going to do the wands but decided not to at the last minute. My sister did the bells and it was cute. Plus, some of the kids rang the bells at the reception, but they were small and not that loud so it wasn’t annoying but kept them quiet! 🙂 I think the bubbles may be a disaster at an Art Musuem and you don’t want to spend your day worrying.

Bubbles really make for cute pics!!! We had a little poem attached to ours.

PS no one brought bubbles into our reception (which was bubble free as well)
