Hey ladies – I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack – and I’m MARRIED!!!
It’s kinda fun being a Mrs. so far, and the whole day was a blur of awesomeness and smiling and laughing so much my face cramped up, but…
My girlfriend did this tradition at her wedding, and we did it at mine, and so far, we’re on a 2-0 success rate! The morning of her wedding, her mother handed all the bridesmaids pearing knives, and we went outside and stabbed them into the ground (with the bride as well). It’s apparently a mexican tradition and is supposed to ward off rain. On the day of her wedding, the sky was BLACK and there were tornado warnings all over the state. While several sprung up in the surrounding areas (some as close as 20-30 min away) it didn’t rain until we were all inside eating dinner for the reception, and ended about 30 min. later when we were all ready to leave. And they were calling for an 80% chance of rain that was supposed to last ALL DAY.
For my wedding this past Saturday, the rain prediction was 60%. We did the knife trick (after seeing my friend’s luck, there was no way I was taking chances!) and it didn’t rain AT ALL since.
I’m not a very superstitious person (usually, it’s a bunch of bologna) but so far we’re 2-0 on this. Has any heard of this and/or had success?
