Just wondering how you feel about including a page on your wedding website that is “About the Wedding Party”. This seems to be a fairly standard type of page to include, but I’m curious to find out what people think of them. Do the bridal party members like/dislike having their picture and personal information online? As a guest attending the wedding and checking out the website, what do you think of these types of pages? Do parents and siblings not in the wedding party feel excluded or less special because they aren’t featured on the website? What are some fun ideas for providing info on the wedding party members, so it doesn’t seem like a personal add for each of them? I just don’t know if this kind of information is exciting or boring to people… basically if it’s worth the effort compiling it all.
Thanks for your insight!!!

You could have a page with the wedding party (check mine out, if you’d like, at http://www.mywedding.com/benandbecka), and another page with family members, which you could title something about “Other People we Love”. That’s not a great title, but hopefully you get my drift. I know that friends of mine who know some/all of the wedding party got a kick out of the little bios I wrote…

We included it, and we found the feedback to be nothing but positive 🙂 We also let our wedding party have a say in the pictures we posted of them. We just pretty much bragged about how awesome our people were so I can’t imagine how they would have a problem with it 🙂

I’d ask them first if they want their pic up online or not. Some may some may not.

as a guest, i think the bridal party is a nice touch and makes things more interesting and personal, rather than just the basic lodging/directions info. you could definitely have another page for family members and relatives. and if you’re worried about how your bridal party is going to feel about it, just run it by them, and if they don’t want their pic up there, a description without a pic will work. go for it!

Thanks for your feedback everyone! I was just thinking, I could make a little “survey” of fun questions that each wedding party member can answer (as seriously or as hilariously as they want). Things like “Nicknames”, “How did you meet the couple”, “Favorite <something>” etc. This could be a way that they can get involved too and it could turn out kind of funny? And then they can disclose as much personal information as they want to. Kind of like those Facebook quizzes that go around.
Has anyone done this before? Any good ideas for questions?

We opted not to put anything about our wedding party on the page except their name and role in the wedding.

I just put their pictures (in rows of 2 in the order that they’ll walk up), they’re names, and their relationship to bride or groom…eg, cousin of the bride, friend of the groom, etc.
