mywedding.com is free and has a lot of cute designs. I haven't set up my site yet but that's probably who I'll be using.
I second mywedding.com. It's very simple and user-friendly, and like prettyflowers said, they have a ton of cute designs. You can even get invitations to match the design of your site.
My website is from mywedding.com.
They make is quite easy to set something up.
I checked out several sites and ended up going with mywedding.com and have been very happy with it.
I'm using mywedding.com too. But using a custom URL from godaddy.com (redirecting to mywedding page).
I like the Project Wedding websites. I originally picked them because they were the only one I could find that offered a background that matched our color scheme. It ended up being a great site that is easy to use and hasslefree.
I am using www.weddingwire.com because they have online RSVP which you control thru your guest list (ppl don't type in their own names, they do a search and CAN'T ADD uninvited ppl :), you can put big pictures on the pages, and add different songs for each page.
I posted this on another thread but want everyone to know- I emailed project wedding about an rsvp tool and they are currently working on one and it will be ready by the end of the year! Woohoo!
I used the knot and have been very happy with it. A few tips:
- Use one of the provided "themes" instead of trying to create your own
- Getting started can be overwhelming, but we started by just creating the home page. We put up a picture of us, the date of the wedding, and a song lyric that speaks to us. Once that was done we took each page one at a time.
- If you have the option to password protect your RSVP, do! We did this and in our invitations we included the URL and the password. This gives our guests the ease of responding online, but prevents other people who we didn't invite from taking the liberty of responding. I don't know that anyone would have done this, but it made us feel a lot better about it!
You have plenty of time, so enjoy the process and good luck!
We are using weddingwire.com. We aren't having guests RSVP online, but that is an option.
we are using mywedding.com. I looked at like 10 different sites, what mattered most to me was the design and we found the most options on mywedding. our runner up was weddingwire- but mywedding is free so we figured we would finally find a way to save money on wedding related things!
I'm using weddingwire. I like it the most of the free ones because it's really customizable. You can change the layout of the preset pages to really make it your own. Plus it had a Washington DC theme which is perfect for our wedding!
We're using weddingwire. It's free. Love the RSVP feature and also the ability to track gifts given/thank-yous sent.
I'm so glad you started this thread...we were wondering the same thing. I think we'll be going with mywedding.com.
We used weddingwindow.com and loved our site!! It's not free, but it has TONS of options for the website, and a bunch of tools that help you organize the planning like a guest list tracker, a gift tracker, and budget stuff. You can check out our website here.
They offer a seven day free trial, so at least you could check it out and see if you like it!
Weddingwire.com is really simple, cute & free so that's what we used. As far as getting started, I had trouble with that too. It has the choices of "common" pages and you just choose the ones you want and don't want. I love the song request feature.. I'm not sure if my guests will actually use it to request music, but I thought it was a nice touch!
We chose WeddingWire for the music aspect and the customizable pages. I also really wanted a layout in our wedding colors [hot pink and bright green] and they thankfully had one close enough.
I think we might be using wedsite.com. I like the look of it the most out of all the other options but it's not free. You only pay like $30 though.
Awesome website suggestions. Thank you. I had been using www.momentville.com but didn't like the lack of FREE backgrounds they offered. Definitely switching.
The Knot is OK - a bit heavy on the ads and therefore a bit busy looking. You can easily make one on WW or my wedding
