It would help if you told us a little about you and your fiance.  Where did you meet? Special/unique proposal? Favorite places? etc…

@Nickig_4: How about an artist that can do silhouette pictures of your guests in black and white.

A champagne fountain would look amazing!

Do you have ideas for your guestbook, table numbers, and escort cards?  Instead of table numbers, perhaps you could do Cuban cities.  Also, other than your vacation/proposal, is Cuba particularly important to either of you, e.g., are you Cuban or of latin descent?).

My husband and I met/work in Aerospace, so instead of table numbers we did pictures of vintage aircraft with an associated table map.  Instead of escort cards we did postcards with pictures of the vintage aircraft that corresponds to the guests’ tables.  The other side of the postcard included a custom postage stamp with our names, wedding date and location, and we included a description of the aircraft.  Instead of a guestbook, we opted for balloon fingerprint artwork (search on Etsy).  I provided a picture of my husband’s ’69 Corvette to the artist and she recreated it for our design :). I surprised my husband with the design at our rehearsal dinner, and he was thrilled.  I also found 3 vintage airplane models at a home design center, and we integrated them into our decor. These personal aspects of my wedding were my favorite!!!

I’m not sure if this is do-able for you

But at our wedding we draped off the dance floor to make it look like the room was just a reception space with the tables, chairs, head table, nothing else. People probably wondered where the dance floor was. We did our speeches and then made it look like hubby and I were leaving! We left the room, went around in our cocktail space through a seperate entrance to the dance floor which was hiding behind the drapery.

Then the colorful lights went on, the staff pulled back the curtains Cinderella style and we did our first dance … (which was actually a rip off a movie. We played 10 seconds of a sappy song, had it cut out, we acted all confused and then got into position to do the Double Dream Feet Dubstep remix dance)

@Nickig_4:  The personalization from DIY’s will come once you decide on a theme- other than bling.

A pp suggested Cuba. If that doesn’t work for you, you could use your shared interests, books, travel, music, songs you love- whatever you love. When you decide that, the ideas will be easy to find on Pinterest, lover.ly, weddinggawker etc.
