Bees, I'm curious. Have you ever felt like someone (i.e. bridesmaids, friends, MIL etc.) weddingbee stalk you?

I dnt put enough info about me on here for anyone to be successfully stalk me. I deliberately avoid putting pics of me, [even though I sometimes desperately want to] because I dont want to be stalked on here

Nope, no one (except FI) knows I use the site!

(not that I'm trying to keep it secret, I just don't talk to them about it!)

So the bees that know for sure, how did you find out? What happened?

    God, I hope not, lol.

Whenever I talk about the Bee, I just refer to it as "my wedding forum" and no-one asks for specifics so I dont give any. As far as I know, FI is the only one who knows that I use Weddingbee.

I don't know why anyone would want to stalk anyone on here. I talk about WB all the time but no one gives it another thought. Sucks for those people who can't post anything because of the fear that someone is stalking them. I also wouldn't post private things on here.

I don't really understand the question. Is it if anyone I know in real life came and found my WB username and read my posts? If so, no, that'd be kinda weird, but I probably wouldn't care. I would tell my friends anything I wrote here but probably in less-obnoxious detail.

I really doubt it. Everyone in my life thinks Im weird/lame for being on weddingbee so I dont see why they would go on here to find me!!! Lol :-)

I've mentioned WB to friends/family but I don't talk to them about it. The only person who knows I'm here regularly is my fiance'. I have not posted pictures of myself, but have posted pictures of my purchases, projects and venue.

Nope.  Daughter's on weddingwire. DIL was on The Knot.  So I'm fairly safe... hee, hee- I think??!!!!  I wouldn't doubt that some of the "mean" girls stalk those who disagree with them.  And there seem to be many more who are making snarky comments since just this past spring.  Maybe it's a Knot overflow???

Yes, thanks CaitMarae for the clarification. Actually, it never really dawned on me that other bees would stalk other bees lol. I think that's a little more scary than someone who knows you personally stalking you lol.

What?  Why would I feel like they were?  Do you mean, "do I worry about someone finding this/ does it cross my mind?"  It has crossed my mind, but is pretty unlikely.  I don't know why anyone would care to be on the site, unless they were getting married...

@cbee No, I don't mean do you worry about it. Some people have no reason to be concerned because they don't know anyone who would be interested or inclined to do something like that. Other people have nosey or invasive friends/family members. And others post very personal information/situations on the bee.

And as a side note, there are a lot of people on the bee who aren't getting married, but have valid reasons for bee-ing on the site (do you like that play on words hehe). I'm corny...but I digress.

@tseay: I get what you're saying. If a "waiting bee" was discovered, it could make things pretty weird with her SO and/or friends and family. Outsiders tend to think "waiters" are a bit odd. Atleast they did when I was one. I can't tell you how many eye rolls or weird looks I got when i talked about our wedding before we were engaged.

For me personally, I've vented about a few people on here and I would prefer that they didn't find out. Not because I necessarily feel bad about the things I have said (I do in a few instances) but mainly because I dont need the added drama in my life right now.

As for the fellow Bee stalking, I have seen that happen too. Some Bee's will go from thread to thread trying to stir up crap with Bee's that they notoriously disagree with. Kind of annoying but whatevs.

I talk about it all the time IRL and I've tried to get a few friends of mine who are getting married interested in it. At first, I used it to vent, but then once I posted pictures of myself in my dress, I stopped doing that.

I think I told one or two of my friends that I'm a member here (one being my MOH) but I highly doubt either of them have been here. My DH knows I still hang around, and he's endlessly amused by it, but no one else knows.

One of my close friends would ask me about the site and now uses it herself for entertainment & planning.

yes she knows my screen name, yes she has web-stalked me. Yes it is a little awkward, but at the same time, I would generally talk to her about whatever I type here, so yeah, it isnt earth shattering or anything.

Eta: As for being legitamately stalked by a psuedo-stranger via the bee, no has not happened(to my knowledge)... certainly have heard of it (moreso lately than in the past) happening and it is pretty effed up.

Nope, I don't think so. I definitely hope not. But it does cross my mind when I post on the Intimacy board-- lol.
