So the joke is that my wedding theme is Wednesday Addams is getting married in Sleepy Hollow. I am trying to plan the decor for my August 2015 wedding. I need help! I swear I am the only bride not using mason jars and having a “rustic” theme. I thought that with the Halloween stuff out right now, I’d have good luck with the gothic/Victorian look, but it’s all kitchy and corny. I am thinking for centerpieces with huge willow branches spray painted black with crystal strands hanging of them in DIY mercury glass vases. My table cloths are black. I have mercury glass and clear glass votives on the table. I have a huge fireplace with a mantle to decorate. I have a black birdcage with a blood red ribbon wrapped around it for cards. I would love to hear what my fellow gothic brides have come up with!

dmh426: You sound like you have most apsects covered.
You could do a monogram in black over the fireplace
Inexpensive pillar candles can be dipped in melted crayons for an inexpensive way to incorporate black

julies1949: The monogram is a great idea! It’s just a big ballroom (with red velvet drapes!!! yay!) that I want to make sure our personalities come through. I can’t ignore the fireplace, it’s the center of the room. It’s just the little touches I feel like I am missing. I don’t know what I am looking for when out shopping, I just know that when I see something whether it works or not.

dmh426: I have heard from other bees that offbeat bride has great resources for similar minded brides. I know there are/were a few other bees with themes similar to yours as well – hopefully they pop in to help you!
