Sorry I double post. I accidentally posted this on ShOES (lol) and couldn’t find a way to move it 🙁 so here it goes. Hoping with a bit of luck I manage to post In general.
Today SO and I were taking a stroll on the beach and suddenly he said something I’ve been thinking these days too but didn’t share with him. Our main wedding in Puerto Rico will be a destination wedding for his mom, dad and brothers, sister and a couple of his friends that might come. Then we’ll have a smaller wedding/reception in Germany both because we need to validate the marriage there and because I want his nieces and nephews and cousins to be able to celebrate with us. They don’t have the means to travel and they are too many for us to pay for their trip :-/.
It all started because we saw this cute restaurant by the beach and we thought it would be super cool to have a breakfast with our families and closest friends there the morning after the wedding. Sort of a brunch. We won’t be going on a honeymoon right away as we want to go to Iceland for our Honeymoon and our wedding will very likely take place between January and March 2015. Since we spend all summers there in Europe, it makes all the sense in the world to wait and go have a nice Honeymoon once we are in Europe and it’s low season for the both of us in our work. So, SO said you know I’ve been thinking that after the wedding we should do something, plan something for the people who will travel here. That was music to my ears as I’ve been thinking a lot about the people who’ll take time off work to come to our wedding and spend money on their air tickets and hotels. So we decided to plan a super fun week for our immediate families and our few closest friends which are all from different places and would need to travel. So we decided that morning after te wedding we’ll have a brunch. Then an open day for everyone to rest and relax.
-Monday we’ll take people to the beach. We’ll take them to Culebra to Playa Flamenco and we’ll rent a couple apartments to stat overnight.
-Then on Tuesday we’ll come back to main island and on our way back we’ll stop and have a kayak tour at the bioluminiscent bay! This is incredibly beautiful and a very nice and relaxing experience.
-On Wednesday we’ll take them to Piñones to try all the local delicacies and then to the National Rainforest.
–Wednesday night and Thursday will be more relaxed and we’ll just go sight seeing in Old San Juan checking all the forts and having food there at Old San Juan.
–Friday we’ll have a bbq at the beach and a little dinner to say good bye and thank you to everyone for coming. Of course this can change due to weather and also we’ll suggest places and things to do for those who are tired or want to explore and do their own thing instead of joining us for everything.
Now we are checking dates and working on logistics to set a date and… starting the process of making the e-ring!
OMG I’m writing this and… It’s still so surreal! O.o I’m super excited bees!
