Hello ladies, I need some advice! My Fiance and I considering changing our date to a (gasp!) Tuesday. This particular date holds a lot of meaning to us as it’s it will be our 10 year anniversary. We had been planning to marry the Saturday after… but in my heart I’d like to do it on that Tuesday. I just wanted some feedback on what my fellow bees think of this? We are inviting about 150 people most of whom live nearby. Any ideas on how to make a weekday date more friendly for invitees? What should I do??? Thanks

@marss1227: We are getting married on a Thursday, and my only advice, would be do it after normal work hours, and give them time in advance. Like ours is 5:30, and we sent out invites early, so our guests would know ahead of time

Do it in the evening if you can so like out4answers says people can leave after work or just a bit early. 🙂 I think it’s romantic you want it to be on your actual anniversary.

I would go to a weekday wedding, I think it would be nice since its so sentimental. But I know I wouldn’t want to be out too late or drink too much/if anything since I had work in the morning. It’s your wedding – do it the way you want.

We got married on a Tuesday but had only immediate family at the beach. It all depends on if you want a big wedding or smaller initmate feel.

as long as you are ok with having a shorter reception I say go for it! Your bar tab will be much lower and marrying on Tuesday is marrying for health as the old superstition goes.

We got married on Wednesday, though it was during the summer and a lot of people who know are teachers. We made sure to have the reception (it was more of an open house timeilne) go until after work hours so that people could come after work if they wanted. We had about the turn out we were expecting we would have gotten on a weekend.
