Are your guests in town or traveling?

I think for me, I would have to take off Friday either way, depending on what time the wedding would be on a Thursday. If it was early enough in the evening on a Thursday that I would have to take off early from work, then I would choose a Friday afternoon wedding.

Honestly, it really depends on what type of wedding your looking for. An evening wedding or a more casual daytime wedding. Those who want to be there will be there no matter what day! Choose according to the wedding you see yourself having!

Do any of your potential guests need to fly in? If so, I’d try for Friday afternoon- as someone who has to fly to get back to family, I would have to take off Thursday and Friday to attend your Thrusday wedding but could fly out after work Thursday night or maybe even really early Fri morning, so that would be more convenient for me. If your guests are in town, it all depends on the exact time the event would start Thursday- can everyone realistically (i.e., factoring in rush hour) get there without missing work? If the answer is no, Friday is the way to go.

Thursday evening. That way, people don’t have to take off work if they don’t want to.

I would vote for Friday afternoon. Unless I was really close to someone, I probably wouldn’t go to a weekday night wedding. I’d be much more likely to take half a day off on a Friday.

Thursday evening. I don’t take off work for anyone who isn’t grievously injured or worse.

I’m not sure that either option is worth saving only $1000.  It seems like maybe spending the extra $$ would be worth not having to deal with the complications of the odd times.
