We want to get married on a Thursday or Friday.  We were concerned about people traveling from out-of-town having to take off work.  Anyone had to deal with this?  Other issues to consider?  What did you decide?

We originally wanted a Saturday, but fell in love with a venue that was 30% cheaper for a Friday so we sacrificed that aspect. We figured OOT guests most likely would have taken Fri off anyway tro fly in, while local guests can come after work (our invite time is 7pm). I personally would not do it on a Thurs because people have to work the following day. This is also the reason we didn't want Sunday.

We're doing ours on a Friday.  We've decided to have our ceremony at 7pm and then a cocktail reception. That most of our guests will only need to take a half-day off.

We're still wavering on this, honestly. Alot of the people who are super important to me are coming from about 6 hours away, so they'd have to take a whole day off regardeless and it's really stressing me out! My mom is going to do a poll to see who would be able to come if its on a Friday night, but I'm not optimistic.

We're doing a Friday ceremony at 3pm for 30-40 people (mainly family and wedding party) so they would have probably taken the full day off anyway. Then the cocktail reception is at 8pm, so hopefully it won't be an issue for most people.

We're doing ours on Memorial Day Monday. It was $6,000 cheaper than doing it on a Sunday at the same venue, and we couldn't even come close to the Saturday minimum. We have a lot of out of town guests that will probably need to take the next day off, but I'm hoping they can just make it a 4-day holiday weekend instead of 3 and have a good time. And a trip to sunny SoCal for Memorial Day isn't exactly boring... Some of the local guests still have 1-2 hour drives, so I'm thinking they will leave early, maybe 8.30-9ish. But since our reception starts at 6.30, that should be enough time for dinner, dancing and cake cutting.
