No advice - just that I think this is a great idea!!!
Oh I guess I do have one bit of advice - tub time. Nothing says time togther like a bubble bath. :)
My FI and I love to mix up some pina coladas and sit on our deck on the weekends (when it's warm out of course)! We always grill and eat outside as much as we can. We're from Boston too so I understand that "nice" days are limited, lol.
Another fun thing we love to do together, and it sounds so simple, but we like to cook. We will have game nights and before we sit down to play Yahtzee or Gin Rummy, etc. we cook up all kinds of yummy appetizers in place of dinner and eat the finger foods while we play. Since budgeting for a wedding we've had to find inexpensive ways to have fun at home :)
HAVE FUN :)
We go to the pool in subd. We also make (when we are childless on a rare occasion or alone at night on a weekend "in") "dirty bananas" (one of my favorite rum drinks with rum and rum creme and the only really awesome aspect of my trip to Jamaica in march when we had the hotel fiasco) and we bbq on the back deck and eat at sunset..with candles too!
Cloudwatching! It's fun to lay side by side with your special someone and watch the clouds go by and see what the shapes remind you of. Good opportunity for creativity, fun and a little bit of goofyness ![]()
Oh and once the sun goes down.....stargazing! Ahhhh! ![]()
Good idea! Those nights are the best. FI and I like to sit in the backyard with a fire, or sometimes we do fondue. We like to try different types of foods and whatnot. We've come up with some weird stuff thats really good!
I think this is a really great idea. What a fun way for you two to reconnect a little. I actually enjoy cooking with my husband. Sometimes, we'll cook dinner together--open some wine and listen to some music and just talk and cook. I *hate* cooking, so I usually end up being more of the "sous-chef" (chopping and washing veggies, etc) It's kind of a fun way to catch up on our days. We've also recreated some of our favorite restaurant meals, which is kind of fun.
Loved the suggestions ladies! We did a little bit of everything ... cooking, wine drinking, star gazing, cleaning (not on the list, but we actually had fun with music on and dancing around -- shh dont tell FI I told you that!), and just generally focusing on us. We went to the gym together for the first time in a while and it was nice afterwards to get in the car and high five! He taught me a few new weight lifting things and I encouraged him to get on the stairclimber (man those things suck!) ... I appreciate it all and suggest to anyone to tell your friends and family you're "going away" and you stay right at home! :)

So my fiance and I have been incredibly busy over the last two months ... we've also had a lot of things going on that have made us uneasy (some health stuff as well as both our current job situations are a little shakey) ... we've decided that since we have no plans this weekend that we are telling everyone we are "going away" ... but in all reality we are staying right where we belong - alone in our condo (or maybe out by the pool)!
With that said -- any ideas for a fun activity that you and your significant other do at home (besides playing "twister" of course!) -- I was thinking of putting together a picnic dinner tonight out on our little balcony with wine and cheese and candles ... any other ideas?
Thanks in advance ladies - I hope you all have a great weekend :)
