how about a B&B in New Braunfels? You could even spend a day at the water park, if you're so inclinded.. or you can tube on the river.. or just enjoy the cute little town and really great German food :)
Thanks, Beav1279! That's a good suggestion. Plus it would give us a reason to stop by Gruene, which is always fun. Any B&Bs you could recommend?

I've heard great things about Salado
We spent our first night of the honeymoon at the San Gabriel B&B in G'town and loved it!
We also, a couple years ago, bought a book from Book People called "Day Trips from Austin"...it is great inspiration!
I've stayed in The Arbor House (the small house) at this place in Fayetteville - IT'S BEAUTIFUL and the staff was wonderful!
How about the Hyatt Lost Pines (my FI proposed to me there). I had a friend use Priceline to get a room for about $85. The trails were fun as was the mini-tubing course.
I'm off to check off Las Brisas, and I can't believe your friend got a room at the Hyatt Lost Pines for $85! That's awesome!

Hey Austin ladies,
The Backyard Groom and I want to take an affordable weekend getaway before the wedding gets here. Any good ideas on where we could go? We've done Fredericksburg and San Antonio a few times so we're looking for something different.
