So.. every Friday, I start to feel antsy, wondering if THIS will be the weekend. (We’re both full-timers, so our weekends are our sacred place) I’m especially eager because a galfriend of mine found out the ring would be completed in Mid July (being made). So.. every weekend since then I’ve been like, C’MON!! I’ve been waiting about five months now.. Waiting is so hard! Plus, work has been absolutely awful, so I’ve hinted that I need something joyful to happen soon. We’re going hiking tomorrow to our favorite state park (his idea), but I’m trying to tell myself now that it’s NOT going to happen. Anybody else struggle with the weekends?

Aww I know how hard they were… I remember that. We went to atlanta the weekend before I got engaged… THAT WAS SO HARD!
But it will be wonderful and you will get there! keep your head up–you get the best prize in the end anyway, your wonderful FI!

We were long distance, I was student teaching plus working at a local mexican joint so I was miserable. I would only see him everyother weekend and I always hinted that I needed something happy. Every friday I would drive to him, hopeful and then drive home very cranky/sad on Sunday. But it eventually happened on his own timing! It will happen but I remember that it is VERY VERY hard!

My fiance took a Wednesday off and proposed to me then! Expect the unexpected.

Not yet, but maybe in a few months I will be! Hopefully I can keep my ‘it’s all theoretical’ mindset, so it WILL be a surprise. Plus I know Mr V is very considered and thoughtful about important things, so I EXPECT it to take ages. Anything sooner is a bonus.
Hang in there!

Thankfully, I don’t get too worried on the weekends. I’m excited for whenever it comes, but I’m just not to the breaking point yet.lol
BUT if I were you, I’d think about the weekdays too. From what I have seen here, it not only happens on the weekend. I know you only see each other on the weekend, but you never know if he’ll show up on a weekday!

Weekends in waiting are very difficult especially every time you go out to dinner or take a walk or make ANY plans! Even when we had no plans I thought, well, maybe he’ll surprise me w/the ring in the freezer — ridiculous things like that. Try to distract yourself w/non-wedding related hobbies or interests! My guy had our ring 3 weeks before he proposed. Yay on your ring being (potentially) ready!!

I am at the breaking point and every weekend I get excited even though I tell myself not too – and every weekend (so far) I am disappointed!

Well, this weekend hasn’t been it either :(. We’re LDR and I have a feeling it will be very soon. He’s told me he wants our engagment to surprise me, bit hard to do that when I’m anticipating it every time I see him :S
Mrscingle2be: – I do a lot of what you do, psyche myself up when I see him, and try not to be too disappointed when I go (it’s sad enough I have to leave him in the first place)

my proposal was so unexpected, I say just wing it; dont get so stressed and anxious or youll drive yourself in a tizzy when it happens it happens all in its good time
dont force the guy either or be overly aggressive; my mistake dating two other guys, this time, I didnt care about commitment whatever will be will be and if he wasnt ready I was ready to move on and lo and behold I got proposed to

Weekends are super tough and the only days that are harder are birthdays and holidays.
