Hi new-bees (and already established bees!)

This is a thread where you can introduce yourself and get to know a little bit more about the other board bees who are here.

I'll start:  I've been here for over a year and got married in July.  Despite the fact that my wedding is long since over, this has remained my internet home... because the best people hang out here!

    Please answer this week's topic:

What is your favorite thanksgiving food?

That's a tough one for me because thanksgiving is my hands-down favorite holiday.  I love cranberries, mashed potatoes and yams!  Oh and pie!  Bring it on!

    Your turn :)

I've been on the bee for about a year too but I have only been active the past few months.  I was married this past June and I don't want to leave just because my wedding is over!

My favorite Thanksgiving food are sweet potatoes!

I have been on Bee for about 3 weeks, and my wedding is in 39 days!  Ahh!  My favorite Thanksgiving food is the turkey, because I like eating left over turkey sandwiches!

Me too! I lurked forever just jumped in on the convo a couple weeks ago, now I can't stop!

My favorite is my mom's stuffing. She makes it from scratch & there's bacon in it. Not the best for your diet, but it's sooo good! LOL

Hi Everyone!  I'm Jessie and I'm the Hostess on the Detroit and Beauty boards.  I got married just over 6 months ago to the coolest guy I know. :)

My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing.  Seriously, I could probably eat a meal of stuffing.  And it doesn't have to be classy stuff, Stove Top will do!

I think the welcome idea is a great thread idea! With the gaining popularity of WB, I can see how it would be easily to get lost here =]

I've been here for over a year (since OCt 08?), but only actively posting since like, 6 months before my wedding. DH has been in the military and htis has been a good time sucking hobby of mine, LOL. It's my happy place =]

My favorite thanksgiving food...besides mom's raspberry jello which hasn't made a debut in awhile....i'm going to be muy lame and say cranberry sauce. Homemade, with berries.

I'm not really a fan of gravies and stuffings and the like.

Hi, everyone! I've been on WB for about two weeks - I came across the site during my search for some fun and manageable wedding DIY projects. My wedding is May 2010, and I'm proud to say I completed my first tissue-paper pomander just yesterday!

My favorite Thanksgiving food has to be my Grandma's apple pie - there's nothing like it!

I've been here for about 2 months, which isn't very long, but man - it's almost like I can't remember NOT being here!!! haha

I really can't pick...so I'm going to narrow it down to mashed potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, and homemade rolls! But leftover turkey sandwiches?? mmmmm, count me in!

Welcome Dancy (great that you joined the conversation, and mmm... bacon!) and Collette (congrats on your first project.  I heard those tp pomanders can be kind of challenging!).  Lolaj the waiting board is awesome, isn't it?  Such a great community!  OTB- welcome.  I can't believe that you found us with your wedding so close!

Helloooo bees! I've been a memeber for about 6 months (I had to look that up in my profile because it feels like forever) and I'm getting married in just under 9 months (hit the 9 month mark on saturday - eek!).

I'm very excited for Thanksgiving this year because my FI's family is coming to my parents' house and we're doing one big happy future family meal. We both have very small families and I'm so happy to be joining our families together :)

My favorite is stuffing smothered in brown gravy. We make our stuffing with sausage. So good! Second is sweet potatoes and third is pumpkin pie.

Hello hive! I just joined WB a few weeks ago. My wedding is 9/24/2010, and I am THRILLED to see that so many other bees love stuffing as much as I do. It is definitely my fave Turkey Day food! Second would have to be my mom's sweet potatos with marshmellow topping. Mmm.

@penga - Do you do ham instead of turkey for Thanksgiving? We do Honey Baked Ham (with that delicious champagne mustard) for Christmas dinner.

@Mrs.DG - I feel like I spend a lot of time on here, but it's mostly because I have a pretty boring job that requires me to look busy most of the time!  haha.  I have actually came across some great ideas I am incorporating into my wedding, and I was a def lurker before I finally joined!  I will probably stick around after the wedding too.

@egb - thanks for the link! That place is GORGEOUS - your wedding will be awesome! I am definitely going to add it to the list of places to check out in Punta Cana. We're taking a honeymoon a bit late, so I still have time to plan. :)

    Hi bees!

I have also been lurking for a while but just started posting... yesterday! I am SO excited to start planning my DIY wedding and am spending my week plotting out black friday bargain craft shopping.

Favorite thanksgiving food has got to be this creamed leek dish my mom makes... oh my god I can't wait to eat it.

We did a lot of research on the hotels in Punta Cana before choosing - FH is very much the analytical type.  For the price, the Melia has a lot to offer - 13 restaurants and they include 4 rounds of golf in your stay.

@egb - ooooh, good to know! I'm kinda the same as your FI - vacations are a nightmare for me because I have to analyze and compare to nth degree. Half of the time, we don't even end up going because I can't make up my mind. Horrible, I know. At least with Punta Cana, there aren't *that* many places to choose from, so it narrows my choices a bit!! But I definitely want to go - more than anything!

    Hi there all!

I've been posting for about a week but have yet to introduce myself so here I go:

I'm a 23 y/o recent-ish grad who is still, sadly, working retail despite my valient effort to break through with my career. I have been dating Mr. Snake(who is just about to turn 26) for 18 months+ and we've been living together for around 2. We recently picked out an engagement ring (EEEE!) and sometime within a month - 6 weeks Mr. Snake will be proposing (exciting!)

We have a Cairn terrier named Rudy which we rescued just over a year ago.

Its wonderful getting to know you all on the Bee!

    Yay for all the newbees!

Hey, I wonder... Do any of you do a roast beef for Christmas?  It's what my family always did, but I don't think it's very traditional... or is it?

And Chantel- I think you might be the newest of the newbees that have posted so far! (though Eriqua is pretty close with 9 posts).  Welcome!

Snake, I feel like I already know you... maybe it's the distinctive name/avatar!

Amanda- I can't believe you've had so many posts in such a short time!

Hi there :-) Im a Canadian from Niagara Falls originally, now living in Toronto with the best person Ive ever met, and have been very very happy for the last 3 years with him! I have 2 kids, 15 and 10, from a previous marriage and 1 little one that is 5 months yesterday!  All blond haired blue eyed monsters that look nothing like their mama! lol

My wedding is next August 14th and I am also the MOH for my sisters wedding next June - so I am a busy lady these days. Both are total DIY weddings. Mine is Vintage Glam with a Paris theme (thats where we are travelling afterwards via backpacks!) and my little sisters is Country Garden.

I was a Cosmetic Manager, for 15 years, and also worked in my ex's Advertising Studio. I did graphic design and wrote copy for print ads in the Toronto area.

I have since retired to be a new mom again withe the baby,I love it, althoough I sincerely miss my ladies and clients from work...i get BORED!

Presently trying to figure out a way to make some money from home and raise my kids. Im pretty darn creative and artsy, and love a challenge. I love to write and paint altho i havent had time in the last while!!!

Ok - you'll learn about me as i make my bad jokes and shoot from the hip.

    ttys,

    M.
