OMG, That is SO AWESOME!! Congrats, girl! Good for you! Any tips you'd like to share?
I've just been working out 6 days a week and writing down everything I eat. I think writing it down helped me realize what I didn't need and how much I thought I was just tasting (I love to cook and entertain - so I am always tasting before I serve)
The first week - I just wrote stuff down and started my work outs after that I started monitoring my intake and if I wanted a movie night with nachos and that yummy fatty cheesy goodness, I had it, but first went to the gym and it made me think - are they really worth it? And yes they are but barely :-)
Way to go! It's great that you're going about it the right way, working out and eating right, and letting yourself splurge (in moderation, of course)!! Keep it up and you will certainly meet your goal :)
@DaneLady: Thank you - I am really excited, I was starting to get down on myself because I hadn't noticed any significant changes. But the scale (which I usually avoid) told otherwise.
@misschickpea: Mahalo! I have renewed energy to keep working and all the encouragement is much appreciated. My body will be thankful I have taken some healthier steps to start out the new chapter of our lives together.
You should take measurements as well, since when you lose fat but gain muscle you shrink in inches but not necessarily in pounds. A pound of fat takes up a lot more space than a pound of muscle!! Keep it up!
@DaneLady: good idea, I forgot all about that. I measured myself before I started all this because... um you know the Dress. But I haven't since then. I needed to lose an inch around my mid area to make it not so snug. I'll do that.
Good Job! keep going, it only gets easier from here
Ten more pounds to my goal weight. Its gotten harder as the wedding gets closer. But I was really happy when the seamstress had to take in the waist and hips. A little sad about the chest area, since I'm not big there at all, but it looks wonderful. Four more weeks. Hoping another two - four pounds for. A little extra dance wiggle room. ;)

I have to tell someone - I almost cried!
I have struggled my whole life not to gain a lot of weight - I've been mostly successful for my age and height. But I have been working so hard to lose the 45 extra pounds since high school (ya so what that I'm almost double the age - its been 15 years eh.. I can dream right) I am usually so very confident in my size, my fitness and I am proud that I enjoy eating what I want in moderation. But this wedding and my dress being so Big its really pushed me to work harder and be more consistant. It has been a struggle the last two months and I am so proud to say I have lost 13 pounds in 7 weeks!!! I haven't seen these numbers on the scale in five years. I teared up! I really had to fan my face. I think I can do it! I didn't think my hard work was paying off but I think I will be able to go into my dress fitting and the seamstress complain they need to take it in. I'll be So Happy!!!! 30 pounds to go - 16 weeks to do it in
:-)
