Of course looks aren’t the only reason to lose weight, but everyone knows how satisfying it can be to buy some new stuff to fit a new body shape. I lost about 15 lbs which was about a two size drop. Some stuff I had is now HUGE (especially pants and skirts) while other stuff still fits perfectly fine.
My mother has been super discouraging, telling me not to waste my money buying anything new (which I haven’t even done yet!) because I’ll just put the weight back on. What the heck!? It’s not like I’m some crazy unsustainable weight. I reached a healthy size through healthy methods. I figure I’ll wait until the fall to start buying new stuff since money will be better after the wedding anyway. (The joys of finally becoming a two income household!) Until then, belts are my best friend. But I was wondering what other bees did.
When you reached your goal weight, how did you handle clothing? Get stuff a piece at a time as you were losing? Wait a while to see if the weight loss would “stick” before buying anything? Buy new stuff immediately upon reaching your goal weight and burn the old stuff on the lawn?
